About Justin Tatsuki Lee

I didn't find sports broadcasting as a passion as early as many with a dream. Growing up, I had always been active in many different sports. Baseball, Soccer, Football, Rugby, Water Polo, Swim, etc. I had always been close to the sports broadcasting idea of doing coverage of sports at the high school that I had attended, but never thought much of it until later on.

During my college days, I quickly found myself in a position where participation in sports may not be in my future as a career, quickly pivoting to sports medicine in the first few years of college. When I transferred to Chapman University, I found an opportunity with the Broadcasting club and through that, found where my true passion lied, with sports broadcasting. With my experience in participating in sports throughout my life, I found the transition easy and was able to take everything I had experienced and put it into perspective for live television/streaming.

Since graduating, I've committed myself to working at a high standard and pursuing a career and life in the sports broadcasting industry. I hope to continue this path and expand on my knowledge that I gained in my short time in college.

My Journey
My Goals

The motto that I have always kept close to my heart and soul is "treat others the way you want to be treated". I want to be that type of broadcaster where I can bridge the connection between sports and human connection. There are stories that are always waiting to be told whether it's on the field or off the field, big or small. There's an essential part of everyone's lives that connects them to sports in many aspects of life. My goal is to share that to the audience while also remaining grounded and relatable to the viewers. At the end of the day my story doesn't matter, the ones that matter are the athletes on the field and the incredible things that they can do.

With everything that I do, I want to continue to improve on this craft each time I wear the headset. Every broadcast that I do is another project for me to work on for the next one and the next one. I want to give back to the others who have helped create the opportunities that I have been given and help them find new doors to opportunities.

I wish to create an atmosphere that is relaxed, fun and barrierless with the audience and crew that I work with. I want to ensure that not matter how big or small their role is, their contributions matter to the success of a broadcast.

Experience Matters

In every little step of my journey so far, I've always attempted to implement new ideas when calling a game. Anything that would engage and audience during a broadcast. So far I'm grateful to have surpassed being a part of 100+ broadcasts so far.
